Back in the UK

I have been away for the past two weeks. I took Bebe to where I grow up - Hong Kong. She needed a bit of time to adjust at first but she loved Hong Kong as much as me now. She cried for the past two nights after we are back. We both jet lagged and woke up at 4am and slept at 4pm.

On my last note I mentioned about the jewellery competition I 've entered and I won the third place. I will need to send my necklace to the US for them to take official photograph. I would like to thanks again to the people who has voted for me. Without you I won't make it to the third... Feel like an oscars speech coming :)

I haven't done any craft work for the past few weeks so I have nothing to show you this week. However I am going to show you a few photos that my husband took while we were in Hong Kong.

Isn't this view amazing?

Birthday month

Are there more winter babies than summer babies? It seems that most of my family are born in the winter. I thought I better start making the birthday cards otherwise I don't think I will ever finished. As I invest so much of card making tool, I swear to myself I will never buy a card from the shop again. :)

The first card is for my brother.

Second card is for my mother in law. I think I might over done this card and put too much objects on it. But I thought it is supposed to be a celebration of being 60 so should like a carnival.

I have gone the totally direction from my second card to make a very simple card.

I also make a birthday for my sister in law.

This is my first time using sew easy to sew around the edge but not very successful so far.

I made it to top 10 in the SoftFlex beading competition. I need your help to make it to top three.

I am Autumn butterfly - if you can vote for me would be much appreciated. Please click on the button below to vote.

Website is live

For the past week I have been building my website. Finally I have a section to show. The website still needs lots of improvement though but finding time to work on it is difficult with a baby and returning to work. So hopefully the website will be fully operational early next year.

I have also made two cards this week. One is a carry on for the Christmas card and the second one is a birthday card for my friend's daughter and she is having a birthday party next month.

Die: Spellbinders Shapeabilities creat a flake and Nestabilities Labels Seventeen

I've used bow-easy to make the bow in the card and it does come out perfect. Even though the instruction that comes with it is hard to follow and I have to search the instruction from the Internet. But once you got the hang of it it is quite easy.

But now as I need to post the birthday card, I will need to make a box for it. Does any one got any idea on how to make a envelope box for a 3d card?

If anyone is interested to my not so fully operation website. Here is the link

More Christmas cards...

More Christmas cards for you to have a look.

I made the flower using Marianne D Creatables English Rose and put distress ink on it.

Isn't she adorable? The Japanese Tilda. However I have made this card more Chinese than Japanese. It looks like a Chinese new year card more than a Christmas card.

Christmas cards

Two more months And it will be Christmas. I wasn't used to giving out Christmas card or even celebrating Christmas . In my culture Christmas is not the biggest festival in the year as we have Chinese new year in Jan/Feb and most of us would have to save all our money and spend it on the Chinese new year as married couples will have to give red pocket money to the unmarried people. But now since I am in England, more or less I am influenced by the festival spirit. So I start giving cards and presents to family and friends. In the past few weeks I have been making Christmas cards. Hopefully I won't be bored you with my cards.

Isn't she cute? She is from the latest Christmas stamp from Penny Black.

and here is my magnolias addictions. Bebe got hold of this card and played for awhile without me noticing so it is a bit winkle. Hopefully whoever gonna receive it won't mind as there is some personal touch from Bebe.

I love this star die from Marianne Design Creatables. It let's you put ribbon on it.

What's On Your Workdesk?

Here is another week of What is on your desk. Here is mine.

As you can see I have turned my dinning table into a one big mass! The mass is actually piped from serveral weeks of work. I guess it is a problem due to lack of storage available in my house at the moment. I seem to just pipe thing up and now things are impossible to find!

I will be returning to work from next week. So i guess my WOWW pic will be taken at the weekend. And the dinning table will probably stay as it is until the following weekend. Luckily (or unluckily) we dont eat at our dinning table so I don't have to clean my mass everyweek.

This week I carried on my Tilda's addiction.

I have used S4-352 Shapeabilities Spellbinders Set, Spiral Blossom Two 1 Die to make the flower and Tilda - cheerleader stamp. The backgroud die is from cART-Us Lace Die With Love - LK1103.

Handmade Monday

This week I have made three cards. It is because I want to practice my card making skills. From reading other card making blogs I discovered quilling and magnolia Tilda stamp.

So the first card is to practice my quilling technique. The flowers are not perfect but I am getting better as I made more and more. It is another thing which you can made loads in front of TV.

The second and third cards are to practice my colouring technique. I have used Promarker on my colour.

I drawn the tree and stamps loads of leaves on it. The flowers are using Marianne design die then colour with Promarker.

Birthday Celebrations

It was Bebe's birthday celebration on Sunday. We went to a Chinese Floating Resturant in London to celebrate her birthday. Even though I do not think Bebe knew what was going on but she sure had fun when her cake with a candle on arrived. She didnt know what to do with it so She decided to catch the frame herself. Luckily she didn't and the candle was actually blown by me....

Thanks for her lovely Aunty to make her a cake and it seems it goes with the theme that I have been using to create BeBe's card. (we didn't compare notes before hand so everyone must know what BeBe likes now)

And I also make two birthday badges - One for BeBe and one for BeBe's Cousin - He is going to be four today. We just came back from his birthday party and he wore the badge to school today.

Here was BeBe's birthday meal. Yum Yum!

I have also created a card at the weekend.

The base card is Single Fold Cards - Deckled Edge - 114x178mm - Hi-5 Pearl
Morphing Mauve and the background card is from "Creative Background Paper Mixed Packs" - Scrolls. The image stamp from gorjuss (Gorjuss Clear Stamp Set - Winter Wonder) and the leaves are from "Woodland Folk Clear Stamps - Perfect Day". The umbrella is hand drawn and I have stamped the leaf one by one to create a batch. I have used a Tsukineko Ultimate Metallic - Gold to apply on the "miss you" stamp.

Card for Autumn

I have been very productive this week (in term of crafting) I have made Bebe's birthday card. See my previous post for card layout. I also made a card for Autumn.

I have used my promarker to colour my picture. I love it. It was so much fun. I don't know why I didn't like Art when I was a child, always thought I was rubbish at it and never proceed further. I wish I did now and might not end up in IT. The three leaves are made by Sizzix big die. Again I have colour them in promarker and put some glitter on it.

I have also made a bracelet and a pair of matching earrings this week. Will get the picture posted when hubby have time to take the pic. I got the inspiration from a vintage store in london. They combined pearls and crystal together. Even though my version is a tone down version but I think it is still quite pretty.

Today is Bebe's first birthday. I will post some of the pic of her celebration laters.

I would like to enter my card for the following challenges.

What is on your desk?

This is my first week participating what is on my desk? As I haven't got my own desk I can only Show you the dinning table that I use to make my card. If I make jewellery I will only make it on my sofa. So normally all the craft materials will be all laying around on the floor :). It is not very child safely so I will make sure Bebe is miles away when I have my stuff laying around or someone is holding Bebe.

As you can tell the baby monitor is on when I took this picture so Bebe is asleep.

Bebe will be one this week so I was working on Bebe's birthday card.

The pic is not great but you can roughly see the design. Bebe loves Elmer so I found a tag that is attached to one of her toy. I hope Bebe won't mind I cut the tag off.

Card making

This week I have made some birthday cards - it seems September is a popular months for birthday! I've made three cards one for my newphew who is going to be four,

I have bought a Sizzix big shot machine recently and it is so much fun. It is fairly easy to use (as long as you also got a multi-platform) It cut through felt no problem. I have used one of their hello kitty die to make the rabbit and little ducks. They are so cute! I also use Swarovski flat back to decorate around the card.

The second one is for my Aunty

And the last one is for my musical crazy cousin. I manged to pick up a leaflet of her favourite musical yesterday.

This is my first time making cards so hopefully there will be many more to come. I hope they will get to Hong Kong on time for their birthday!

Early post...

I am writing this post earlier than my usual time. It is because my hubby will be away this week and I will be alone with BeBe. Luckily my mum will be coming over to help out. I hurried all my work so that hubby can help me to take the pictures before he goes away.

This week I have been making a few more jewellery. First is a chain bracelet. It is my first time trying this technique and it was quite fun. A lot quicker than my normal beaded jewellery making. I will try more styles later.

A matching earrings to go with it and I also made the earring displays myself :)

Lastly, I also made another bridal jewellery. This time again I have applied wire work on the piece. I am not sure what the center piece look like, originally I wanted to be a butterfly - but it seems it ended up more just like a ribbon.

I will be missing hubby loads when he is away.

Bridal collection...

After reading loads of wedding related books, I have finally made my first bridal jewellery. It is absolutely dreamy and it will be lovely to go with any wedding dress. It is made with three different size Swarovski pearls.

I have also made a few earrings this weeks. The loop wire is sterling silver, I wonder whether it is important to use sterling silver finding on your jewellery, but they are so expensive so at the moment I only use sterling silver on my earrings.

I have also made a bracelet to go with the earrings.

Handmade this week

This week is a quite a relaxing week for myself. All of the visitors have gone so the house is quiet again. One month more I will be returning to work as my maternity leave is going to end. Not sure whether I will be able to pick things up again... And also not sure whether I will have time to make jewellery. My sister said to me if I have some spare time I should rest as Bebe still not sleep through yet :s but I told her the closer to the end date of my maternity leave the more jewellery I want to make as I am worry I won't be able to make as many jewellery as I do now. Byway this week I made a necklace - again I used wire on my jewellery, i quite like using wire and I think it is fun.

I am addicted to butterfly this week. :)

And the winner is...

The lovely personalised bracelet goes to Arushi Bhatt. Well done Arushi, I hope you will like the bracelet.

I have already announce what the prize will be for my twitter fan, so here is what i will give away for my blog follower.

Necklaces for myself

This week has been a productive week. Apart from the pink necklace from the previous post, I also made two necklaces for myself. Unfortunately I love these two so much they are not for sell. Both of them are very simple in style so they will be great for work.

The first one is a Hugh Swarovski cystal in clear colour wrap around by fresh water pearls. It is my first attemp to use wire on my jewellery. The clear crystal is 38mm!

The second one is a replica style of swarovski indian pink lagoon necklace. I am a big fan of Swarovski as you can tell from my work. I decide to make my own as they are not in production any more and they were selling for £70 so I think they were overpriced. They are slightly different in colour to the Original as I want each colour to stand out. I have used Siam instead of Padparadscha as padparadscha is very similar to Indian pink and also I have put more crystals in my necklace than the original too.
